Heaven or Hell encounter Holy Spirit Salvation

Keeping our salvation: Can we lose it?

Is salvation ours to lose?

Once saved always saved? I realize that’s a pretty controversial topic and you may differ with my viewpoint, but based on what scripture and the Holy Spirit has shown me, this is my opinion.

The Dilemma
If salvation is a gift of Grace, why is it once we are saved, religion teaches us that in order to remain saved, we have to somehow become better people and live to “a new standard of the law”, or we’ll lose our salvation? Why is it so hard for us to believe salvation is a lifetime, lifelong gift freely given to us by the Grace of God and not some kind of “deal” that gets taken from us if we mess up once, twice, or a hundred times?

I struggled with this topic for years an until recently, and if you are like me, often I felt very there has been a “double message” by what the 20th century church as a whole has taught me about my salvation. Scripture says it’s faith that justifies us and brings us to the saving grace of God, through His son Jesus, and not our attempts at following some religious laws or doctrine! (Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”), So if it’s faith and God’s grace that brought us to salvation, wouldn’t it make sense that His grace was large enough to keep us in salvation??….and that you and I no longer have to worry that we’ll somehow lose salvation if we miss living up to a subjective standard of holiness?

The word is very clear on this, that it’s by His grace, through faith we are saved, and not by our works or by upholding the Law of the prophets. Yet it seems everywhere I go, people are feeling oppressed that they aren’t “living up to the law” so to speak as Christians. I see and hear the voice of condemnation everywhere I go in the church.

I think so many of us Christians have bought into “the lie” that Christ got us saved (truth), but once saved we have to sustain our own salvation “through works” and somehow we are required to “live up to the law” as “a perfect Christian” in order to keep salvation.

I found in the past, when I think this way I would ultimately always fall short and end up “feeling” condemned by my own thoughts, or worse by the church. Can anyone of you relate? Yet, we wonder why the church is dying today while filled with such judgement and condemnation! Who want’s to go to church and be reminded of just how short we fall from being perfect Christians? And if we’re honest and listen to what many of the youth today are saying, “who want’s to even be saved if condemnation is the end game for us”?? Where’s the good news of the Gospel Jesus spoke of, in that message? If there isn’t good news drawing our youth to today’s church, then I promise you something is missing from what Jesus intended because everyone was drawn to Jesus’ message of love and forgiveness, except of course the religious elite!

Hey, don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting we use salvation for an excuse to keep sinning. And I’m all for living a holy life growing in Godliness

“Hyper Grace”
Yet in just speaking such words above regarding salvation, I bet some reading this are upset thinking I’m teaching a “hyper Grace” message, ignoring major parts of scripture, and promoting a license for people to just out out and sin without worry or regret.

If that is what you are hearing, then I’m very sorry and I promise you are missing my point and maybe missing even the good news of the Gospel.

I believe scripture is saying that when we start thinking the gift of salvation is too good to be true, and that somehow you and I must do something to keep it, then we are under-estimating the real power in such grace from above. Gods Grace is one of the most powerful forces in this universe and His goodness has the ability to change a mans heart. This grace through faith is so powerful, that it compels a man to repent. When we rely on our own human willpower then we run amiss and we are underestimating the power of the Holy Spirit working within us through conviction (not condemnation). It is the goodness of God that leads us to change (Rom 2:4), and not judgement or condemnation which come from the enemy.

The Great Lie
Here is my point; it seems to me that mans religion tries to teach us that once we are saved, that then we must bear the burden of becoming “sin free” through the “law” of the old covenant and “act” like good Christians to remain saved”.

Somehow we are consciously or subconsciously told “watch out, you better be holy now or you might lose your salvation!” ….as if what Christ did on the cross wasn’t enough to keep us saved and somehow we need to step in to take over by fulfilling the law??

Does anyone else see the implied conclusion that strips the cross of it’s purpose and power with this logic? Think about it, when we are born again and then question whether or not we can lose our salvation, aren’t we really saying God isn’t/wasn’t big enough through the life, death, and resurrection of His Son to cover our sins?

Honestly, do we think our sins are so bad or so large that Jesus, the “spotless lamb of God who took away ALL the sin of the world”, wasn’t enough to remove our personal sin? Or are we saying that we’re so important, that we need to step in and take over for God by adding our works to His work on the cross? I hope all this sounds convicting, because I believe when we start thinking Jesus wasn’t enough to cover our present, past, or future sins, then we have been deceived by the enemy himself. Yes, we all should strive to become more holy, but if it’s about us becoming perfect to remain saved, then we are all doomed. When Jesus came, He alone paid the full price for all of it – past, present, and future until we are fully restored in our glorified bodies!

Deception
If I were the enemy, I’d sure do everything in my power to get you to believe the lie that if you fall short in your walk, you’re in great jeopardy of losing your salvation! Think about the chaos that is created in a person who is feeling uncertain. Enough chaos can also keep you from drawing closer to God in your walk. Folks, I assure you that if you are hearing the voice of condemnation trying to tell you that you can lose your salvation based on your inability to follow the law, then you are hearing a bold lie from the pit of hell…don’t believe it! No one is capable of fully following the law and if you follow the law, you are condemned by the law. If that is where you are at, then I pray you will be set free. Anyone still living by the law is in bondage and needs to be set free by the truth and the real good news of the saving grace of what Jesus did on the cross through the Gospel!

The Truth
If you have been born again and really read what scripture says, then you will find it’s not about what you and I have done (or can do), it’s ALL about what Christ already did and that our sins of yesterday, today, and tomorrow are forgotten as far as the east is from the west (Ps 103:12). It’s so important for us to know that our escape from sin is not found in the law or our works to be perfect, but the our escape from sin is found through our faith in Jesus. It’s that simple.

There is nothing you or I can add to what Jesus already did on the cross 2000 years ago. Salvation is an eternal gift, and unless you were not born again, or unless you puposely curse Holy Spirit, and unless you “deviate from the faith and turn away from their allegiance” (Heb 6:6 – basically telling God that you no longer wish to be saved), then you cannot lose your salvation because your are not fulfilling the right “religious doctrines” or not fulfilling the law, or by not acting like a “perfect christian”. So let’s also not confuse the gift of salvation, with our heavenly rewards for storing up treasures in heaven, and seeking to walk an greater holiness. What we do in our life is very important to God, and there are rewards in heaven for walking in greater holiness, but our salvation is not dependent on our works. I think that is where so many people get lost and fall on the slippery slope of religious works.

The Exceptions
Hebrews 6:6 and the scriptures below, describe the case(s) when a Christian can lose their salvation. After study on these, I’m convinced these are only the rarest of cases of “mature believers” who have fully walked in the gifts of the spirit, fully understand their relationship with God, were fully committed to the Lord, and in a sense, “turned to the dark side”, willfully despising/denying their salvation cursing the Holy Spirit Although I would think it rare, such is the nature of free will – one can always choose to willfully turn down the gift of salvation, even after being saved.

Mark 3:29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.” Luke 12:10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

Paul’s Warnings about the Law:
So with that exception aside, Paul warned in several places both in Galatians and in Roman’s against the legalistic/law mindset that taught Christians that in order to “stay saved” we must follow the law. The religious elite at that time, kept trying to tell believers what Jesus did on the cross, wasn’t enough and they needed to do more by following the Jewish law in order to remain saved.

Paul asked them “Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?” Paul is trying to show the Galatians the difference between receiving salvation as a gift of grace verses by our own means of following the law.

The Free Gift
As humans born in a fallen world, somehow it’s so hard for us to believe we could actually get something we never deserved. That just isn’t what the world has taught you and I. So in our lack of understanding, many of us spend a lifetime trying to justify God’s grace through our own works of righteousness by upholding the law, trying to become better believers. In fact, 2000 years ago, the Galatians struggled with this same concept and if we look around most of the church still struggles with this concept, condemning believers (and ourselves) for not being good enough and needing to try harder to become better Christians. But God’s grace is indeed sufficient.

In doing so, we (and the church at large) has/have missed the true gift of freedom Christ gave us in removing the guilt and condemnation placed upon us by trying to live up to the law of the Old Testament. This is what Jesus meant when He said in Matthew 11:30 “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” With 611 laws in the Old Testament, there was nothing easy or light in trying to uphold those laws and although the law of old had an important purpose in History the result was before redemption through Christ’s gift, all fell short and were left with guilt, shame, and condemnation living daily in a state of “sin consciousness” . But if we understand and accept the good news of the Gospel we’ll see, Christ came to free us from such a state of “sin Consciousness”. Galatians 3:13
Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified). Yes, we have been set free because, “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law”! Amen

“The righteous live by faith”
This is really a huge point that many of us (and the church) as a whole miss today as well. Scripture is so clear on this revelation, just read Galatians 3:10 to see my point. 10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”[e] 11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”[f] 12 The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.”[g] 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”[h] 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

Why the Law?
You ask, why then was the law given? Great question and one that Paul addressed in Gal 3:19 Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was given to show the world’s desperate need for a savior “the Seed” of Abraham, Christ Jesus.

The Law of Sin and Death
It’s so important for us to remember what Paul tells us on how “the law” could never bring man to a state of righteousness – Gal 3:21 For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.

Freed from the Law
But instead, Paul says “Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin” ( “the law”) meaning that since Christ has come, those who believe by faith have been freed from the law. – Gal 3:22 22 But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.)

Freedom in Christ
You and I truly must understand this, if we are to walk free from the condemnation of sin, and approach the throne of God in petition and prayer with a clear conscience provided by Jesus himself, and not by our works upholding “the law”. Otherwise, we all fall short and deny the very gift of fellowship with our Father because guilt, shame, and condemnation (the works of the enemy) try to separate us from God with a veil of darkness.
(2 Corinthians 3:14
But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.
2 Corinthians 3:15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.)

Too much Grace?
We have been given such a grace and freedom through Jesus to experience the depth of God’s love without the burden of sin staining our relationship with Him. There are far too many believers who worry that a “message of Grace” (or hyper grace) is a ticket to live an “unholy” life by believers. But I say, if we truly born again then it’s His goodness that leads us to repent, and not the blinding judgment of the law. (Romans 2:4 ….Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?) I say, if we love God and are called to his purposes, then it is He who changes us from the inside out by writing His laws upon our hearts, and not from the outside using the “laws of old” referred to as “the law of sin and death”. Heb 10:16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,”

The Work of the Cross
Let’s not be deceived, it is He who is doing a great work in each of us by His hand, not by our own hand, not by works, and certainly not by the law…. Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. 1 Thessalonians 2:13 …. it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe…..

It is the gift of the Father, the great work of Jesus on the cross, and the counsel of our Holy Spirit that has given us the freedom to draw closer in our walk with God, approach Him with a clear conscience, and become transformed by His grace. . Hebrews 12:2 …..looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith….

Believing
So let’s stop trying to become righteous by our own works or by the law and start believing in the righteousness given to us through “grace by faith”. It’s His Grace with our Faith that started this work in us and it is the same Grace with our faith that will conform us into the image of His Son! Does that mean we use Grace an excuse to live unholy or to be lazy in growing our faith or sloppy in our holy habits, no of course not! But let’s start where the cross finished and let’s believe in God’s promises and listen to what Paul is telling us when he says we are “the righteous children of God” and stop believing we are just a bunch of “law breaking, worthless sinners”!

Believing in our value to God as His child, takes us to a whole new plateau in our walk and allows His holiness to enter into us by His amazing Grace. Our faith is the amazing transforming agent that allows God’s Grace to shape us, if we’ll walk by faith and not by the law or our works. Jesus paid the price for you and I to be free and justified with our Father in heaven by His work on the cross, to become “heirs according to the promise”. We need to stop trying to become heirs, since we’ve already become heirs by His work, and not by the law or by our deeds.

Gal 4:4-7
4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.[b] 6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[c] Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.

What was the purpose of the Old Testament versus the New Testament?

What was the purpose of the Old Testament versus the New Testament? ….”sin was revealed and brought into the light of our consciousness, through the law of the Old Testament”

One major purpose to the laws of the Old Testament were to “reveal sin”, exposing our need for a savior  who would one day overcome the “sin of the world”.  Paul explains in Romans 3:20 that we would not know we were born into sin if not for the law; “for through the law comes the knowledge of sin”. And Paul continues to explain in Romans 7:9 how the commandments ever further “amplified” our sin consciousness by saying ….”but with the coming of the commandment sin became alive”.

In other words, sin was revealed and brought into the light of our consciousness, through the law. Without the law, no one would know what a sinful state we were born into after the original fall of Adam and Eve. The “law” and our consistent inability to follow it while in our fallen state, brought to light the depth of our sinful nature found within our “old man” which every man is born into since the fall of Adam and Eve. This is why every man must be born again as a “new creation in Christ”, and “put off the old” nature.

That said, one major purpose of the New Testament was/is to reveal freedom from the law of sin for all men by God’s great plan of redemption, through His Son Jesus. In Romans 8:2 Paul explains this by saying; “for the law of life-giving spirit in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.” The apostle John sums it up nicely when captures John the Baptist’s comment in John 1:29 with; “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”.
Jesus was the one and only person who ever fulfilled all the Judaic laws found in the Old Testament ( 613 laws ), which no man could ever fulfill. In doing so, He became the perfect substitute for us, taking on himself “the curse of the law” and all our inequities (sin). Galatians 3:13 “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us” (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”).
Because of His perfection in doing what no other man could do, we have been redeemed by the offering of His blood sacrifice, and brought back to “right standing children” of the most high God. Because of His sacrifice standing in our place while taking on God’s wrath, those who accept Christ, no longer stand as “sinners of this world”, because now that Jesus has come,  the world has been forgiven! Amen! John 12:47 ……I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.” and in Matthew 9:13 Jesus said …..I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance”.  and 2 Corinthians 5:19 further expands this by saying, “that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”

That is and was, the turning point between the Law of the Old Testament, and the Mercy of the New Testament and means all the sacrifices of the old testament were no longer desired by God because the law of the old testament was fulfilled through mercy and grace of the Father who sent His son. In doing so, the sacrifice of Jesus replaced the old covenant, with a better covenant, as scripture states, “once and for all” (for the very last time, for all of us).

Aren’t you glad God sent His son to free us from the law of sin and death?
God Bless you,
Scott L

Return From Death’s Door: How God Brought Connie Davis Back to Life

Return From Death’s Door: How God Brought Connie Davis Back to Life

By Ken Hulme and Kristi Watts
The 700 Club

CBN.com“I looked down on her and her eyes were open and looking at me, but they were not looking. Quite frankly, I was looking at a dead person,” relates Joyce Langston, an intensive care nurse.

Paramedics had brought Connie Davis to the emergency room at the River Regional Medical Center about two hours earlier. There, doctors discovered that she had suffered a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot that hit her lung. The trauma from that clot left Connie without blood pressure or pulse, causing her to code.

“A code is just a term that we use to try to bring someone back, try to revive them,” Joyce says.

Dr J.R. “Bob” Ford, Connie’s attending physician, recalls the details of that day.

“They got her to the emergency room and instituted CPR,” he recalls. “For two hours they continued that CPR. We had a heart doctor, a lung doctor, and different doctors coming in and different people doing the code as we went along. Basically, we never were able to get back a blood pressure, pulse, or any objective evidence that she was breathing or alive.”

That’s when Joyce got the call to bring one of the strongest blood pressure medicines to the ER—a medicine of last resort.

Dr. Ford and Joyce Langston“They had not been able to get any pulses, any significant pulses. They had not gotten any blood pressure. She wasn’t responding to any of the medicines,” Joyce explains.

“I think Connie had the best medical care that you could possibly get,” says Dr. Ford. “We went to extreme measures on everything.”

Their last official step, in medical terms, was to call the code, or call the time of death.

“She was clinically dead,” says Dr. Ford. “They had called the code and pronounced her dead.”

What hospital officials didn’t realize was that on that Sunday morning, Connie’s friends, family, and church had begun to storm heaven on her behalf.

“I just stopped the service and told the church what was going on and said, ‘We’re going to take awhile and intercede for Connie,’ ” Rev. Mike Fields told his congregation. “We were interceding that God would spare her life. We were praying against death and praying for life.”

Meanwhile, the ER doctor came to the waiting room to tell the family the bad news. Still full of faith, Connie’s husband, Tommy, made a request.

“I asked him, ‘Could we come in and pray before they call it?’ He said yes, we could come in and pray,” Tommy recalls.

Thelma Russell, Connie’s spiritual mom, recalls praying over Connie.

“When I laid my hand on her,” says Thelma, “she was cold. I said, ‘Lord, with long life you promised to satisfy her. Lord, you said you would do her good and not evil, that you would give her an expected end, that your will for her is to live and not die.’ When I saw her gripping Tommy’s hand, and mine started shivering like that, I knew that life was coming back into her.”

Suddenly, Connie Davis was breathing and her blood pressure was climbing! Doctors and nurses were stunned—including one nurse who had helped with CPR.

“She said, ‘Joyce, I have been doing this 28 years, and I have never seen anything like it. After those people prayed, she got a pulse!”

Adds Dr. Ford, “All I know is the family went in, and when they came out, the nurses went back in there and she was spontaneously starting to breathe again and began feeling blood pressure and a pulse again.”

But Dr. Ford knew that Connie still faced an uphill battle. Besides all of her major organs shutting down, Connie showed no signs of brain activity.

“We knew that she was brain dead when she started back,” he says. “She had no spontaneous activity. She was on a ventilator. We had to be assisted in her ventilation. She had an aspiration pneumonia, which means she aspirated her stomach contents during CPR. We broke her ribs. Her kidneys went into failure from not enough oxygen. Her GI tract went into bleeding from not enough oxygen. She just had every complication that you can have from a cardiac arrest.”

But God wasn’t finished working. As the doctors expressed concerns about her complications, family and friends continued to pray—intensely. And God began to do other miracles that very day.

“It was probably 4 o’clock in the afternoon,” Joyce recalls. “The respiratory therapist was on the other side of the bed from me and she said, ‘Joyce, I think she’s sticking her tongue out at me.’ I said, ‘Donna, she’s brain dead, she’s not sticking her tongue out at you.’ About that time Connie went (shakes head). I went around to the other side of the bed and said, ‘Are you awake?’ She went (shakes head). I thought, This just can’t be. This is a mistake. But at the time, when she came over, her body temperature was 89.9 degrees. I mean, she was already headed out. Her body was starting to cool off. So I’m just thinking, This just can’t be. This kind of stuff doesn’t happen. She could move her legs and everything. No neurological deficits.”

Even more amazing, at 3 o’clock the next morning—just 15 hours after she was to be pronounced dead—Connie wrote a note to her husband, asking him to cancel an appointment.

God had done it again! Now, each time Connie would face a medical crisis, Joyce knew exactly where to go.

“At every turn, I would go out there, and there was this sea of people from Connie’s church out in the waiting room. I would have to wade through to find Mike and Tommy. ‘You all need to be praying. She’s bleeding, and we can’t get the bleeding stopped,'” Joyce recalls.

At the end of 30 days, Connie Davis left the hospital, and we’d like you to meet her right now—that is Connie playing basketball with her son! God has not only raised her from the dead, in His incredible power and mercy, He restored her—body and mind—to perfect health!

“She’s beautiful. She’s vibrant. She’s full of life and so full of the joy of the Lord,” says Joyce. “It is so incredible to contemplate that she is the dead woman that I saw in the emergency room.”

“I know that if God can still raise the dead, He can do anything but fail, so it has really, really increased my faith,” says Connie’s best friend, Toni Ford.

“There’s no way to physiologically explain how someone can go two hours in a code and not get blood supply to the brain like she did to her kidneys and things and come out of it just totally neurologically fine,” says Dr. Ford. “I’ve never seen it before. The fact that she came out of that without any damage at all is truly a miracle.”

Tommy’s faith also grew tremendously. “I heard often that God did a lot of stuff in the Bible back in the days of old,” he says, “but now I know that He is a miracle worker and He does raise people from the dead because He raised my wife from the dead. I was there, and I know.”

By this time, you might be curious what was going on from Connie’s perspective.

“I didn’t hear them say, ‘She’s dead,'” says Connie, “but I did hear them say, ‘This looks bad. She’s not going to make it.’ When I heard that, I thought, I guess I’m going to die. So I’m lying there and I want to make sure I’m right with the Lord, so I said the sinners prayer. I said, ‘The Lord is my Shepherd.’ I said, ‘Father, if you really don’t need me, I really would like to raise my son.'”

And at several points, Connie began to describe watching the doctors treat her from “outside” her body. Could this have been an “out of body experience?” Connie says she’s not sure.

“I just knew I saw myself shaking really hard back and forth, and how that happened I don’t know, and foam was coming out my mouth,” says Connie. “I wanted to make sure that that happened, I just wasn’t thinking of it or dreaming about it. I asked my husband when I got out of the hospital, ‘Was I doing that?’ and he said, ‘Yeah, you did it quite a bit.'”

Connie and Tommy DavisOf course, no one goes through such an ordeal without it changing their life. For Connie, that means telling others about the amazing grace that saved her.

“I try to tell as many people as I can to accept the Lord while they still have breath in their body,” Connie explains. “People need to make a choice now for Christ because you’re going to spend eternity somewhere. It could be in hell or in heaven. You’re going to be able to hear. You’re going to be able to have all your personality. So if there is anything I can convey to people, it’s accept the Lord today.”

UPDATE 2005
In looking back, Connie notes several things. First off, she says, “Your spirit does not die.” She says her personality and her senses were in tact. She was fully aware of her surroundings and all that was being said and done. She heard doctors’ grim words, nurses’ routine remarks and even one doctor correcting another’s procedure. She says she was trying to joke with them as they opened her eyelids to detect any response. She was saying back to them, “Well, I can see you…” She says this experience has convinced her even more of the reality of eternal existence either in heaven or hell.

Connie is also convinced it simply wasn’t her time to go. But the prayers of the saints were a critical part of what brought her back. Her own simple prayer, “Lord, if you don’t need me, I would like to raise my son,” and the faithful prayers of her interceding husband and church family are what allowed her to return to her body.

She now appreciates that her life has been extended. She is more sympathetic toward others, believes God more and takes Him at His word more easily. She says she catches herself ready to complain about mundane things in life like laundry and remembers that she might not have been here now. She says these thoughts stop the complaints. She is also very humble and doesn’t want a spotlight on herself or her experience. She says unequivocally that she didn’t “do” this, that she has no great ability to heal or pray as a result of this experience. She loves God and will pray for anyone who needs it because of His love for His people, not because she was resurrected. And if she ever needs to be reminded, her son now 15, will let her know that it’s because of him that she’s still here. God is letting her raise her son.

Smith Wigglesworth Testimony: Dying man healed

Near death man with tuberculosis completely healed by Jesus in Wales!

There was an Episcopal minister by the name of Lazarus in the country of Wales. He was bedridden for several years, near death suffering from tuberculosis. Wigglesworth was asked to visit him to pray for healing.
Upon arriving he describes the scene as; “he was nothing but a massive bones with skin stretched over them. There was no life to be seen. Everything in him spoke of decay.”
Wigglesworth said that the man did not believe God wanted to heal him and that there was not an atom of faith there in that man and that the man had made his mind up not to have anything, so he left the man.
But God had promised Wigglsworth he would heal the man, so the next morning he gathered 7 other believers in the town to go back and pray. This is what Wigglsworth wrote:
“I will never forget how the power of God fell on us as we went into that sick man’s room. Oh, it was lovely! As we made a circle around the bed, I got one brother to hold the sick mans hand on one side, and I held the other, and we each held the hand of the person next to us.
I then said;
“We are not going to pray; we are just going to use the name of Jesus.” We all kneltdown and whispered that one word, “Jesus!, Jesus!, Jesus!”
The power of God fell, then it lifted. Five times the power of God fell, and then it remained. But the man in the bed was unmoved.
Two years previously, someone had come along and had tried to raise him up, and the devil had used his lack of success as a means of discouraging Lazarus. I said “I don’t care what the devil says, if God says He will raise you up it must be so. Forget everything else except what God says about Jesus.”
A sixth time the power fell, and the sick man’s lips began moving, and the tears began to fall. I said to him, “the power of God is here; it is yours to accept it.” He said, “I have been bitter in my heart, and I know I have grieved the Spirit of God. Here I am, helpless. I cannot lift my hands or even lift a spoon to my mouth.” I said, “repent, and God will hear you.” He repented and cried out, “Oh God, let this be to your Glory.”As he said this, the power of the Lord went right through him.
I have asked the Lord to let me never tell the story except the way it happened, for I realize that God can never bless exaggerations.
As we again said “Jesus!, Jesus!, Jesus!” the bed shook and the man shook. I said to the people who were with me, “you can all go downstairs now. This is all God. I’m not going to assist him.” I sat and watched the man get up and dress himself and we sang the doxology as he walked down the steps.
I said to him “now tell what has happened.” It was soon told everywhere that Lazarus had been raised up.
The people came from Llanelli and all the district around to see him and to hear his testimony. God brought salvation to many. Right out in the open air this man told what God had done, and as a result, many were convicted and converted. All this occurred through the name of Jesus, “through faith in his name” (Acts 3:16). Yes, the faith that is by Him gave this sick man perfect soundness in the presence of them all. Amen & Glory to His name!

Sin and Sickness by Smith Wigglesworth

Sin and Sickness: Are they related?

There is a close relationship between sin and sickness. How many know that their sicknesses are a direct result sin? I hope that no one will come to be prayed for who was living in sin. But if you will obey God and repent of your sin in stop it, God will meet you, and neither your sickness nor your sin will remain. “The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven” James 5:15

Faith is just the open door through which the Lord comes. Do not say, “I was saved by faith” or “I was Healed by faith.” Faith does not save and heal. God saves in heals through that open door. You believe, and the power of Christ comes. Salvation and healing are for the glory of God. I am here because God healed me when I was dying, and I’ve been around the world preaching this full redemption, doing all I can to bring glory to the wonderful name of the one who healed me.

“Sin no more, lest a worst thing comes upon you” John 5:14. The Lord told us in one place about an evil spirit going out of a man. The house that the evil spirit left got all swept and put in order, but it received no new occupant. That evil spirit, with seven other spirits more wicked than itself, went back to the unoccupied house, and “the last state of that man was worse than the first.” Matthew 12:45.

The Lord does not heal you to go to a baseball game or to a racetrack. He heals you for His glory so that from that moment your life will glorify Him. But this man remained stationary. He did not magnify the God. He did not seek to be filled with the Spirit. And his last day became “worse than the first.”

The Lord wants to so cleanse the motives and desires of your hearts, that we will seek one thing only, and that is His glory. I went to a certain place one day and the Lord said, “this is for My glory.”

A young man had been sick for a long time. He had been confined to his bed in an utterly hopeless condition. He was fed with a spoon and was never dressed. The weather was damp, so I said to the people in the house, “I wish you would put the young man’s clothes by the fire to air.” At first, they would not take any notice of my request, but because I was persistent they took out his clothes. When They had been aired, I took them into his room.

Upon entering the room the Lord said to me, “you will have nothing to do with this,” and I just lay prostrate on the floor. The Lord showed me that he was going to shake the place with his glory. The very bed shook. I laid my hands on the young man in the name of Jesus, and the power fell in such a way that I fell with my face to the floor.

In about a quarter of an hour the young man got up and walked back-and-forth praising God. He dressed himself and then went out to the room where his father and mother were. He said “God has healed me.” Both the father and mother fell prostrate to the floor as the power of God surged through that room. There was a woman in that house who had been in an Asylum for lunacy, and her condition was so bad that they were about to take her back. But the power of God healed her, too.

The power of God is just the same today as it was in the past. Men need to be taken back to the old paths, to the old-time faith, to believing God’s word and every “Thus says the Lord” in it. The Spirit of the Lord is moving in these days. God is coming forth. If you want to be in the rising tide, you must accept all God has said.

“Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:6). It is Jesus who asks this question. Give him your answer. He will hear, He will answer.

Blindness healed by medical miracle Documented Chronic Sickness Healed Miracle Healing Salvation

Blind woman healed by Jesus in Africa in front of 200,000 witnesses!

Blind woman healed in Africa in front of 200,000 witnesses- precious!

As many of you are aware, Ivory Coast has been plagued by many years of civil war. Terrible atrocities have been committed and much blood has been shed in this place. In fact, our crusade field bears a grim reminder of the desperately wicked condition of fallen humanity. At the back of the crusade field there is a distinct area where curious mounds of dirt are grown over with thick weeds. As our bulldozers were clearing the field in preparation for the campaign, we were asked by officials not to clear that particular area because it is a mass grave where countless unidentified corpses are buried. Yet, this week, this very field, once the scene of death and destruction on a massive scale, has been transformed into ground zero for a historic harvest and a mass Holy Spirit outpouring. It is a striking metaphor of God’s redemptive work through salvation. The crowd grew to 200,000 tonight in spite of the fact that Ivory Coast national football team was playing against Tunisia contending for the Africa Cup of Nations! Our event director asked one young man why he came to the crusade instead of watching football and he said, “We need Jesus more than football.” This kind of hunger is what sets this campaign apart. The people are extraordinarily expectant and full of faith. The video at the top of this email is from the very first testimony tonight. It is from a woman who was totally blind in both eyes. Last night her left eye had been healed and she came to give glory to God. While interviewing her, I discovered that her right eye was still blind. I told her to cover that right eye and prayed. Nothing happened. I so I covered her eye and prayed again. “Mama look at me. What do you see?” I asked. For several seconds she looked at me intently (it probably seemed longer than it actually was:-) and then all of a sudden, she started shouting, “Oui, oui, oui, oui, oui” (French for “yes”). Jesus opened her eye on the platform in front of 200,000 people and, as you can imagine, the crowd went ballistic! Praise the Lord! This has been a historic event that will leave an indelible mark on Ivory Coast. The entire capital city has been shaken. The news media is out in full force every night. Top government officials have taken notice and are coming for prayer. The church leadership has never seen anything like it before. I am sure that if the Lord tarries, the great-grandchildren of these people will still be talking about what Jesus did here this week. And it’s not over yet! We still have one more meeting tomorrow night. Please continue to pray for us – that the full payload of Holy Spirit impact will demolish every last bastion of satanic influence and that from this week forward, Ivory Cost will be known, not as a place of war and bloodshed, but as the dominion of the Prince of Peace.Yours in the Gospel,

Boy returns from death coma with a meassage from God!

A MESSAGE FROM HEAVEN!

What an amazing testimony of God’s love through a young boy.

As Retah and her family were returning from one of these public speaking events in the Free State not long after she delivered the message above, her own precious tablet fell from her hands and shattered into a million pieces. The entire McPherson family was involved in a terrible motor car accident. Retah, her husband Tinus and her youngest son Josh walked away with little or no injuries, but her eldest son Aldo felt the full brunt of the impact. He was thrown from the vehicle and found unconscious on the other side of the highway.  This was the start of a long upward road of endurance relying only on God’s grace, mercy and provision.

Aldo was on life support for a long time after the accident, and during that time Retah was lifted into a new level of walking by faith and not by sight. Although Aldo suffered severe brain injuries as a result of the accident, Retha testifies: “God is good! He has awakened my Sprit to Him and I have come to know Him as a holy God who wants my life, not only my heart.”

After a few weeks in a coma, Aldo finally woke up. While he was in a coma, he had a supernatural experience where he went to heaven, saw God, the angels, Moses and Abraham. Aldo came back with one message: “Jesus is alive!” Due to the seriousness of his injuries to his head Aldo was not able to speak for a long time and related his miraculous journey by writing letters lead by the Holy Spirit – which he is still doing today.

After these series of events their lives were forever changed. Retah and Aldo co-authored a book titled “A Message from God” which relates their miracle story in detail. Retah has since retired from her mainstream job and is now busy with full-time ministry. She travels around the country and the world spreading this simple truth “Jesus is alive!”

In closing, here is an excerpt from the preface of her book A Message from God:

I’ve always confessed that I’m a Christian. I’ve always known God. I believed in the Holy Trinity and even served God.

Yet, when I look back now I realize that I was merely living a good life filled with good deeds. I didn’t really know God’s character and I had no idea what it meant to be completely sold out to Him – which is the only sacrifice that is ever acceptable In His sight. I had to live through a terrible tragedy and huge suffering, before I was finally willing to sacrifice everything, including my son to God. Only after all that, did I hand over control of my life to Him and did I get to know Him personally.

All this pain was so unnecessary! Jesus had already paid the price in full. After I had given my life to Him as a living sacrifice, I could get in line with God’s perfect plan for my life – to live in a love relationship with the living God!

Only then could I say that it didn’t matter whether I lived or died, as long as I glorified God.

For a long time I thought it was my husband’s responsibility to make me happy, but the truth is no human being can make you completely happy. Only Jesus can do that for you. He is the ANSWER to all questions; the SOLUTION to all your problems, the FULFILMENT of all your needs and desires. He is ALL things to ALL men! I tried to quench my thirst with all sorts of things like perfectionism, fame, wealth and achievement. But, now that the fire of the Holy Spirit has purified me from the inside out, I know Jesus is the fountain of living water.  He is the only One who can quench my thirst forever.

Know one thing for sure: Jesus is alive! – Retah McPherson

Atheist near-death experience in hell

Atheist professor’s near-death experience in hell left him changed

— In some near-death experiences, people report they were drawn toward “the light.” But in this horrifying near-death experience for an atheist art professor, he was drawn into the darkness of hell, which dramatically altered the course of his life.

“I was a double atheist,” says Howard Storm, who became a tenured art professor at Northern Kentucky University by age 27.  “I was a know-it-all college professor, and universities are some of the most closed-minded places there are,” he notes.

On the last day of a three-week European art tour he led, his group had returned to their hotel in Paris after a visit to the artist Delacroix’s home and studio. As Howard stood in his room with his wife and another student, suddenly he screamed and dropped to the floor in agony.

“I had a perforation of the small stomach, known as the duodenum,” he recalls. At first, Howard thought he was shot, and he glanced around the room to see if he could spot a smoking gun. As he writhed in pain on the ground, kicking and screaming, his wife called for a doctor.

“They said I needed surgery immediately,” Howard says. “It’s like having a burst appendix. I was told that if they don’t get to it within five hours, you’re probably going to die.”

Howard had the misfortune of a falling ill on a Saturday in a country with socialized medicine, and no doctor could be found. “French doctors do seven surgeries a week, and after they do the seven surgeries, they take the weekend off,” he discovered.

They placed him on a bed without sheets or a pillow and offered no pain medication. He waited in the room for 10 hours. “I was just lying there going south,” Howard says. Meanwhile, intestinal contents were leaking into his abdominal cavity, which would soon lead to peritonitis, septic shock and certain death.

At 8:30 p.m. a nurse came in and said they were still unable to find a doctor, but they would try to find one the next day, Sunday.

“I had been struggling very hard to stay alive, but when she said there was no doctor, I knew it was time to stop fighting,” Howard says.

Yet the thought of death scared him. “I was terrified of dying because it meant lights out, the end of the story,” he notes. “It seemed horrible that at 38-years-old, when I felt powerful and successful in my life, it would all come to an end in such a ridiculously pitiful way.”

Howard made an impassioned farewell to his wife, and told her to tell their friends and the rest of his family goodbye. Then he lost consciousness.

It wasn’t long after he lost consciousness that he had a very unusual out-of-body experience, and found himself standing next to his bed, looking at himself lying there. As he stood there, he noticed he didn’t feel the pain in his stomach. He felt more alive than ever, and his senses seemed more heightened than usual.

He tried to communicate with his wife and another man in the room, but they didn’t respond, which frustrated him. “I was glad I didn’t have the pain, but also I was very confused and disturbed by the situation.”

“I saw my body lying on the bed, but I refused to believe it was me. How could that be me if I was standing there,” he wondered.

Suddenly he heard people outside the room calling for him by name. They spoke English, without a French accent, which seemed strange, because everyone in the hospital either spoke French or heavily accented English.

“Come with us,” they said. “Hurry up, let’s go.”

Howard went to the doorway. “Are you from the doctor?” he asked. “I need to have surgery. I’m sick and I’ve been waiting a long time.”

“We know all about you,” one said. “We’ve been waiting for you. It’s time for you to go. Hurry up.”

Howard left the room and started to walk with them down a long hallway, which was very dimly lit – almost dingy. “They took me on a very long journey through a grey space that got increasingly darker and darker,” he recalls.

They walked a long time, and Howard wondered why he was not tired when he had just suffered the worst day of his life.

“Where are we going? Howard asked. “How come it’s taking so long? What is the doctor’s name?”

“Shut up,” one said. “Be quiet,” another said. “Don’t ask questions.”

Howard’s fear and apprehension grew at the same time he lost trust in his guides. “Finally it was so dark I was terrified and I said, ‘I’m not going any farther. I want to go back.”

“You’re almost there,” one replied.

Howard dug in his heels. “I’m not going any farther,” he said firmly.

A fight ensues

His guides began to push and pull at him. Howard fought back, but he was horribly outnumbered.

“We had a big fight and the fight turned into them annihilating me, which they did slowly and with much relish,” he says. “Mostly they were biting and tearing at me. This went on for a long time. They did other things to humiliate and violate me which I don’t talk about.”

When Howard was no longer “amusing” to them, he collapsed on the ground, ripped apart, unable to move.

He lay there motionless for a few moments, completely spent. Then he was surprised by a small voice inside his head that said, ‘Pray to God.’

He thought, ‘I don’t pray. I don’t even believe in God.’

Then he heard the voice a second time, ‘Pray to God.’

‘But I wouldn’t know how to pray even if I wanted to pray,’ he thought. Whose voice was this, he wondered? It sounded like his voice, but the words were completely foreign to his

own thinking.

Then he heard the voice a third time repeat the same message. His mind drifted back to his days in Sunday school as a child. “I tried to remember things I memorized when I was very young,” he says. He struggled to think of something he could pray.

Then he managed to blurt out, “The Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want…”

When the people around him heard his attempt to pray, they became enraged. “There is no God and nobody can hear you,” they cried, along with other obscenities. “If you keep praying we will really hurt you.”

But Howard noticed something curious. The more he prayed and began to mention God,

the more they backed away from him.

Emboldened, he began to shout out bits and pieces of the Lord’s Prayer, “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” and “God Bless America.” Finally, he was screaming any fragments of God’s truth he could muster from the moldy recesses of his memory bank.

It seemed to work! Even in the darkness, he could tell they had fled, but not too far away.

As he lay there, Howard began to review his life. “I came to the conclusion I led a crummy life and I had gone down the sewer pipe of the universe. I had gone into the septic tank with other human garbage. I was being processed by the garbage people into garbage like them.”

“Whatever life was supposed to be about, I missed it,” he thought. “What I received was what I deserved and the people who attacked me were people like me. They were my kindred spirits. Now I will be stuck with them forever.” Feelings of self-loathing and hopelessness filled his mind.

His thoughts floated back again to himself as a nine-year-old in Sunday School, “I remembered myself singing “Jesus Loves Me,” and I could feel it inside me. As a child, I thought Jesus was really cool and he was my buddy and he would take care of me.”

“But even if Jesus is real, why would he care about me? he thought. “He probably hates my guts. I’m not going to think anymore; I’m going to ask him.”

“I’ve got nothing else to lose. I’ll give Jesus a try.”

A cry for help

Then he yelled into the darkness, “Jesus, please save me!”

Within an instant, a brilliant light appeared that came closer and closer. He found himself bathed in a beautiful light, and for the first time he could clearly see his own body’s miserable condition, ghastly for his own eyes to behold. “I was almost all gore.”

Immediately he recognized Jesus, the King

of Kings, the Rescuer, the Deliverer. “His arms reached down and touched me and everything healed up and came back together,” he recalls. “He filled me with a love I never knew existed.”

Then he picked up Howard, like one football player picking up a fallen teammate on the field, put his arms around him, and Howard cried like a baby in His arms. “He carried me out of there and we headed to where God lives.”

In his mind, Howard began to think that Jesus made a terrible mistake. “I’m garbage and I don’t belong in heaven,” he thought.

They stopped moving, and both Howard and Jesus were hanging in space, somewhere between heaven and hell. “We don’t make mistakes,” Jesus said tenderly.

“He could read everything in my mind and put His voice into my head,” Howard recalls. “We had very rapid, instantaneous conversations.”

Then Jesus told Howard He had angels who would show him his life. “It was a terrible experience because my life deteriorated after adolescence. I saw I became a selfish, unloving person. I was successful, a full tenured art professor at 27, the department head, but I was a jerk.”

In this replay, he saw his heavy drinking and adultery. “I cheated on my wife proudly. It was horrible.”

For the first time he realized the way he lived his life hurt Jesus. “I was in the arms of the most wonderful, holy, loving, kind person and we’re looking at this stuff. Embarrassing doesn’t even begin to describe it.”

As they watched together, Howard could see the pain and disappointment on the face of Jesus. “When I did these things it was like sticking a knife into his heart.”

“Do you have any questions?” Jesus asked.

“I have a million questions,” Howard replied, and proceeded to unburden himself of anything and everything he could imagine asking an omniscient being. Jesus answered Howard’s questions kindly and patiently.

When Howard couldn’t think of anything else to ask, he said, “I’m ready to go to heaven now.”

“You’re not going to heaven. You’re going back to the world,” Jesus replied.

Howard began to argue, but it was to no avail. Jesus told him to go back and live his life differently.

Going back

At 9:00 p.m., Howard was back in his hospital room in Paris. Less than 30 minutes had elapsed since he lost consciousness.

As Howard opened his eyes, he heard the nurse say, “The doctor arrived at the hospital and you’re going to have the surgery.”

As they wheeled him out of his room on a gurney, he saw his wife in the hallway. “Everything is going to be really good now,” he said to her. When she heard him, she cried, thinking they were brave words.

When Howard emerged from surgery, with the effects of the anesthesia wearing off, he spoke to his wife. “It’s all love,” he told her. “You don’t have to suffer anymore.”

“You need to sleep,” she replied, thinking he was slightly addled from the drugs. Then he awakened again and began to tell her about Jesus and the angels and heaven and hell.

“She was an atheist and she didn’t like it. She thought I lost my mind.” Sadly, Howard’s marriage ended in divorce after she left him many years later.

When his strength returned, Howard began to devour the Bible. “Since none of my atheist friends believed me, I started memorizing verses and I would give them Bible lectures, but that didn’t go over very well,” he recalls.

He grew “desperate” for fellowship in a church, and began to attend Christ Church in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, part of United Church of Christ. Howard’s pastor worked with him patiently, and after three years, Howard was ordained as a lay minister in his church.

Sensing a deeper call into ministry, he attended United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio and later pastored a church in Covington, Ohio.

He also wrote a book about his experience, “My Descent Into Death,” which he says was written primarily to non-believers.
Howard and his second wife, Marcia, a strong Christian, are both involved in missionary work in Belize. He maintains a passion for painting, with much of his art devoted to spiritual themes.

Woman Brain Dead 17 hrs Awakens: Dr’s classify as a miracle!

Woman Brain Dead 17 hrs Awakens: Dr’s classify as a miracle!

A West Virginia woman is at the Cleveland Clinic after walking the line between life and death.
Doctors are calling Val Thomas a medical miracle. They said they can’t explain how she is alive.
They said Thomas suffered two heart attacks and had no brain waves for more than 17 hours. At about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, her heart stopped and she had no pulse. A respiratory machine kept her breathing and rigor mortis had set in, doctors said.
“Her skin had already started to harden and her fingers curled. Death had set in,” said son Jim Thomas.
They rushed her to a West Virginia hospital. Doctors put Thomas on a special machine which induces hypothermia. The treatment involves lowering the body temperature for up to 24 hours before warming a patient up.
After that procedure, her heart stopped again.
“She had no neurological function,” said Dr. Kevin Eggleston.
Her family said goodbye and doctors removed all the tubes.
However, Thomas was kept on a ventilator a little while longer as an organ donor issue was discussed.
Ten minutes later the woman woke up and started talking.
“She (nurse) said, ‘I’m so sorry Mrs. Thomas.’ And mom said, ‘That’s OK honey. That’s OK,” Jim Thomas said.
Val Thomas and her family strongly believe that the Lord granted them their miracle and they want everyone to know.
“I know God has something in store for me, another purpose. I don’t know what it is but I’m sure he’ll tell me,” she said.

She was taken to the Cleveland Clinic for specialist to check her out. Doctors said amazingly she has no blockage and will be fine.
