Does God still Heal the sick?
That was the question my good friend Michael asked one day during bible study. He asked the same question that we had all thinking: “Why aren’t we seeing the miracles and wonders of the first century church, and why can’t we do the same miracles as the Apostles?”
After just finishing a year-long study on the power of the Holy Spirit, what he asked seemed like a fair question, especially since here in the North Eastern USA, faith in the power of the Holy Spirit can often seem as distant as the miracles of the first century church over 2000 years ago!
So here was my return question; “If we receive the Holy Spirit when saved by receiving Jesus, and if Christ was raised by that same Holy Spirit, and if the Apostles performed miracles by that same spirit, then shouldn’t we have the same exact power within us? Isn’t God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, the same today as yesterday and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8)? Isn’t it “one spirit, the Holy Spirit, that unites the entire body of Christ?” Isn’t that the same Spirit that God gave us mentioned in Matthew 10:1, ACT1:8, Romans 15:13, 1 Corinthians 2:4, and 2 Timothy 1:7 just to name a few?
That question and it’s answers, has led me down a path to discover that such miracles and wonders, are still here today!
For years I was taught and believed, that the Miracles of the Apostles died with the first Apostles almost 2000 years ago. I had believed like most of my friends, that the “miracle crusades” of the 50’s and 70’s, and 80’s were all just “crackpot” crazy ministers, filled with intense emotions, selling nothing but fake miracles where emotions overcame obstacles like headaches and back pain. It made perfect sense that the small miracles were just the result of overcoming pain through an adrenalin rush, you know, the old ‘mind over matter” saying, or perhaps they staged an elaborate wheelchair hoax right? It all seemed a bit fake to me, and I believe in some cases, it really was fake which to me is/was the ultimate blasphemy about God’s power and truth when someone tries to fake miracles for personal gain.
After all, I didn’t personally know anyone who was dramatically healed through prayer, or know anyone who had personally experienced “real healing” from such a ministry. My conclusion for most of my life, was that biblical healing was all just some well executed “smoke and mirror” performances with little substance, and nothing was coming from typical media outlets to convince me otherwise. I thought “certainly if any of this miracle stuff is real, it would show up on the front pages of national news papers, or on the evening news broadcasts, right?”
But something happened to me when I was attending revival services in Albany New York early in 2012. I started witnessing real miracles happening, on real people who I know personally. I saw a man who was deaf from birth, healed and able to hear again. I saw a man with a heart condition healed. I saw several people completely healed from depression. I saw damaged knees, ankles, and backs healed. I saw a man in perfect health who was in a coma and brain-dead after dying with a heart attack right in a church a year earlier. Doctors said he would never walk or talk again because he went so long without oxygen, yet through prayers by a couple of “faith filled” pastors from Victory Christian Church, he become completely healed in two weeks (See “Russell’s Story” posted on this site)!
These weren’t something I read about, these were all documented miracles on real people I met and saw myself. I have to admit after seeing all these, my world was rocked beyond understanding. Within a couple of months, my entire view of the world had been turned upside down, and as I saw truth emerge, the Spirit of God within me begin to rise up and stir and I felt my spirit inside, groaning for more! I honestly felt like scales were falling off my eyes just like Saul before becoming Paul the Apostle, when he began to see the truth about Jesus. Somehow, a vale had been lifted in both cases.
I started to wonder if miracles like this were something isolated or were they in fact commonplace in the world around us. I wondered if such things were happening everyday in the world but many of us simply never hear about them, or maybe we just didn’t believe it when we heard them?
So I started doing research on miracles around the world and wouldn’t you know, since that day I’ve learned that countless medically documented miracles and supernatural wonders are being experienced each day yet strangely they go unnoticed to most of the news outlets.
I kept thinking, how can such amazing news go completely unknown to the world and go unnoticed within mainstream Christianity?? I thought, how was this possible that I could be so misinformed, especially as a 24 year mature believer??? No wonder the world church is filled with so much unbelief! It seems the media is either deaf to telling these amazing stories or the world just isn’t listening (or both), and up to now the enemy has been victorious at keeping us in the dark.
My conclusion, the world desperately needs to know and hear such faith building stories of hope! And now, it seems God has placed a burning desire on my own heart to help spread the word that miracles are happening all around us, and that miracles in the name of Jesus are healing the sick, comforting the poor, restoring the church of Christ, and preparing His bride (the Church) for His return!
Since starting this site, it has been my great joy to not only see the number of site visits growing each day but to also pursue miracles in my own life. Today, I now pray every day for someone, somewhere and I’m starting to see Jesus use me for more and more miracles, Amen!! It is my hope and prayer that our faith may be strengthened from such miracles!
It’s true, God is on the move and showing us His Spirit is alive, and greater miracles are unfolding as we speak. Through the proof of these miracles, God is calling us to closer fellowship with His Son who was sent to save the world using “wonders, great signs, and many kinds of miracles”! As the book of ACTS (2:22) says, “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.”
I am certain that same Spirit of Jesus, is with us today, bringing miracles, wonders, and signs, so the Church may be renewed and so that millions of unbelievers may come to know Him and receive the gift of His saving grace!
If you are not a believer in Jesus know this, He died for you, no matter how much you feel unworthy, He loves you just as you are, no matter what you did in your past, and He stands at the door waiting for you saying “… but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” Come and drink deeply of the spirit of God through His precious Son, Jesus Christ ……receive His love and be saved with Life Eternal.

It’s not my goal to try and convince you as to whether or not they are real, (that’s between you and God and your own faith) but it is my hope that many people may be encouraged by stories showing the evidence of God’s power working around us, and the authority of Christ working in today’s world. In my walk, I’ve come to realized that it’s happening all around us if we are willing to take an honest look past the shroud of unbelief that plagues today’s church.
I believe we are living in a world that keeps many good people, blind to the truths that God wants us to know; truths that He has opened to us through the resurrection as His children and as heirs to that kingdom. I believe the things written in Matthew 13 were for the benefit of all of us who believe in Him. They (the Apostles) were the first ones to be given the chance to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven, but once the new covenant began, All believers are given that same chance if we “seek first that Kingdom of Heaven”. It’s my hope and prayer that we may be a generation who can look back and say we rose above the things that have made us into a “sleepy church” filled with unbelief in God’s word and God’s promises and say “the truth has set us free – I was blind but now see, I was deaf but now hear!”

Miracles do happen ,I have received a few ,so I know .And I belive .But it is true .You don,t see the Church of Acts today.I am alive because I believe .Jesus is alive he still healing.Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Hector, we may not see the same church today as in Acts, but He is the same yesterday as today and I believe we will soon see such a church again as we humble ourselves and seek Him, He will pour out His Spirit among the nations! The evidence is already showing signs and wonders.

Its really funny because as I first started to read the first thing about miracles, its crazy that about 6 or 7 months ago a friend and I were having the same conversation on the miracle of the bible and why we don’t see anything being said about the or if they really do happen even today. They do and I agree they need to be available for others to read and know that God is the same 2000 years ago as he is today. He does miracles everyday…salvation is a miracle. Healing happen every day and they should be told. Why I don’t know. The world as well as the church seems to think God changed over the 2000+ years of our earths existence. He hasn’t. He can do the same thing today but the key is faith and belief that anything is possible.
Keep documenting and God will continue to show you more to show to others.
I think this a good article, well written, 1st person witnessed, and informative, But unfortunatly in the news dispensation business, sadly, if it doesn’t bleed it doesn’t lead. I’ll reference my first 2 years of college. I subscribe to a magazine/paper called “the Good News”. The premise was that only good, positive, uplifiting, stories would be published in it. No bloody, guts and glory, or tragic articles would or could be found in these pages. If I remember correctly, sadly, it didn’t last 14 months of my 2yr monthly subscription. It hasn’t stopped me, 40 years later, of still looking for the good.

Again, I shared your page with my friend over breakfast, and like me, he was so excited to share the same revelations that you have spoken of in the article..
In searching for your facebook, I stumbled upon this page about miracles, and wanted to share about this subject. I noticed the blog on the top that tries to convince one that miracles were a thing of the past. I used to be in this camp, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, have witnessed/participated in the amazing healing power of God.
Some of the healing were in the area of cancers removed, chrones disease healed, tumors dissolved overnight. Of course there is the inner healing that frees the soul of the torment of the enemy, and his lies.
Hebrews 13:8 states that “Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever”. I take this to be the truth, so if Jesus healed in the past, then the truth is he is doing the same today. God is so excited to share his Love with us, and sometimes this comes in the form of physical healing. It is in this arena of healing that the Holy Spirit can and does reveal the nature of God, which is to heal and set free His children from bondage.

I try to share this revelation all the time when I’m teaching. This is such an important part of living out our faith and getting out of the way so to speak to allow Jesus to do His transforming work inside of us. Jesus said ” the truth will set you free”! …..not guilt, shame, and condemnation which the enemy uses to keep us in bondage. I think the church has been slow to acknowledging this because first, they have been mislead to think such tools motivate us to “try harder” (even though hundreds years of trying harder have failed!….they do not work and keep us in a “sinner mindset” completely in bondage to the very thing we want to escape) and second, I believe the more modern church is afraid to release a message of “hyper grace” or “hyper forgiveness” that they believe will lead believers to greater works of sin, which is yet another lie if we are truly born again living in a community of faith that keeps us accountable.
Even in a “worst case” scenario, I’ve actually seen someone living out a total life of sin, sleeping with another woman every night, but always seeking God’s love and keeping in close intimacy with Jesus along the way. He never allowed guilt, shame and condemnation to keep him from boldly speaking with God about his sin, and his desire to be set free from such sin. In the end, it was the love of Abba Father, that completely delivered him and set him free from such a lifestyle. Scripture says “Love covers a multitude of sin” ….I believe this is an example of what that can mean, and the love of the Father (like in the prodigal son parable) finally brought this man home and set him free from himself. Although many would cringe at this example, and his own church rebuked him as they should for such behavior, it’s a beautiful testimony and an actual instance of God’s grace and love, transforming a man through intimacy with Jesus…..the goodness of God leading him to repent, again and again until completely set free. Not your normal mode of getting set free, but then again, maybe if we keep personal guilt, shame and condemnation out of the way, it removes the barrier to intimacy with God, and really allows us to fellowship closer with Him, and allows Him to transform us into His holiness…what a concept! It works and God has a unique plan that can set any one of us free when we keep meeting him in prayer and surrendering our will to His will!! Jesus rocks!

One reason we don’t hear of these miracles is because medical records are private and the medical professionals who witness them on a regular basis are not allowed to talk about them.

Saw the video. Please, please I beg you don’t insult our intelligence. I have a rare disease and had an eight hour surgery and now I am in rehab. I am not out of the woods, there is no guarantee I will totally be healed and I am nervous. I have been praying for a long time. Where can I go to be healed or can someone come to my rehab to heal me. Or can I go to see a person really healed. Meaning It is known to independent doctors that looked at a broken leg or such and then walking again.

I have been a christian for over twenty years and I have just discovered how to pray and what faith, hope, and love is. I was never taught to pray with my heart(subconscious mind) and as a result my prayers were mechanical. I’m not a expert, but I would encourage you to pray early in the morning before your rational mind has a chance to interfere with your spiritual mind and visualize the end result as you pray as if it has happened and thank God for the miracle that you have received in faith. I’ll also be praying for you with my heart.

I know my Redeemer lives and He saves. We (5 of us) were driving down a very icy two lane highway with deep ditches on either side. Our driver was in a hurry and there were three slow cars in front of us and what looked like a long stretch of flat highway up ahead. So he started to pass all three cars. then a car came from behind a small snowy hill directly toward us. By this time we were next to the middle car and they were all close together. There was absolutely no place to go. He must have slammed on the brake because we started spinning around. After what seemed like forever, we stopped spinning. We were backward on the road and there were no cars anywhere on the road. (none at all) Yahovah is very good. Praise be to Jesus, my Savior!
Praise Yahweh!!! He protected you all but the driver should have been more careful… icy roads and he trying to pass another… but for God that could have been tragic. We are to use wisdom. Blessings!

I can testify that the power of God is alive and well in the 21st century. Our team goes out most weekends and we see miracle after miracle. Praise God, for his word is life, Praise Jesus for his sacrifice, through him we are able to do as he did and greater signs and wonder shall follow. To all the naysayers, you do not know what you speak for the kingdom of God is upon those who believe and obey His Words. His Words are life in abundance and the enemy shall bow it’s knee to the Name of Jesus!
It’s a great article and honest about the state of affairs with the church today and root of sceptism among unbelievers and with some Chrstians about the real possibility of miracles today. We need more clear and precise documents on these occurrences to show they still exist and occur. Thank you for opening up the dialogue and the giving clear examples of their existence.
The religious leaders in that day did not have the scientists, medical doctors or doubters with 2,000 yrs of experience trying to debunk miracles. Remember in the Book of Acts when the Holy Ghost baptism of fire fell from heaven and everyone heard the Apostles in their own languages? That was an obvious miracle, but someone still said they were just drunks. Like you, Thomas wouldn’t believe other Christians who said a major miracle had occurred until he personally saw proof. Be more believing. You believe antibiotics make people well right? How do you know they didn’t just get better over time and ALL antibiotics are a fake scam for money?! If you believe antibiotics work than don’t believe that Christians who move in miracles are all liars and fakes.

Please pray for my daughters, age 14 and 15, my husband and myself. Both daughters and I have scoliosis. One daughter has speech problems. My husband has back pain. I have neck pain.
Healings show God’s goodness and His love which draws men to repentance. Some people sow, some reap, but He provides the increase. I have seen so many people cry, in awe that God actually cared enough to heal them, and then tell them about their true identity in Christ which 99% never even knew.
Getting healed over time is one thing, getting healed instantly and feeling the power of God run through you is another. I love the later which opens a door to not only show them the GOOD NEWS, but tell them.
Jesus sent his disciples to either heal the sick and tell them the kingdom was near or tell them the kingdom was near and heal them; show n tell or tell n show. He said he sends us just as the Father sent Him and to go out into the world teaching them EVERYTHING that he had commanded. For example, heal the sick.
His definition of a believer is found in Mark.
Mark 16:17-18 And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; They will pick up serpents; and even if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well.
According to His definition, are you a believer?
I had never seen healings in person, experienced them myself, nor did I pay that much attention when I heard of them. However, that all changed when God peaked my interest out of the blue one day and now I generally see about five people instantly healed in a typical week. This is just by stopping and praying for people that I don’t even know while going about my day.
Since then, I have been healed instantly of a torn hamstring and sciatica problems instantly while feeling His power touch me in the spot the pain was.
Sometimes God speaks to my heart about people and nudges me and other times I can see that they need His touch, which is in me. It is about taking the time to love the one right in front of you.
God is love and if we do not love we do not know Him. Eternal life is to know Him, not just saying a prayer and going to heaven. We were created in His image and likeness. Since He is love, we were created to love.
Jesus did not die to just get us into heaven, He died to get heaven into you; Holy Spirit. His plan is transform us from glory to glory into His image and likeness, not the world’s. When people see you, they should see Jesus since He lives in you. It’s not about our works, but His and He still wants to do them through us as a willing vessel. He is not looking for a golden or silver vessel, but yielded vessels.
Walking in the healing annointing is for all of God’s children when they realize who they were created to be. Spend some time with Jesus, He is the Word of God. In other words, read the Bible and what it says concerning healing and who you are because faith comes by hearing the Word of God, Jesus.

I pray this opens the minds and the hearts of those needing healing and those desiring to walk in it, in Jesus’ name.
By the way, be healed in the name of Jesus. Whatever is not of God I uproot and bind it from returning. I thank You, Jesus, that whatever door You shut remains shut and whatever door You open remains open. I also release the joy and peace that You have given me to anyone reading this.

Thanks for the blessing. My back still hurts. A lot. It prevents me from working or really doing anything, and the pain meds, while buying me time to wait for a cure or healing, make it harder to do anything physical, as well, other than sleep. I’m out of money, facing homelessness, unless a miracle happens. BTW, I was one of those who glowed with faith and believed I would be cared for and depended on God when choosing a low paying, helping career. Until the back injury and disability denial, and running out of money and not qualifying for aid, and basically being told to just go die, by my own government and everyone around me (who are dealing with their own concerns about keeping their family afloat). Now, I have to wonder if I was deluded. Maybe God creates healing or maybe our strength, when in a state of faith, manipulates life force according to our own will. In weakness, we lose that ability. Others can help, if they are in a strong place, at the point they pray for us? If it were God who helps, and not the individual’s strength, sometimes described under the umbrella of faith, then why are my prayers, in my illness and weakness, ignored? Prayer should not be like a form of magic or sorcery – success should not depend upon any power or condition within the one who prays.
Sorry about your current situation. I pray you will be freed up soon. There are many forces at play. If not the own ego, then sin or unforgiveness or even demons can cause havoc. Please go to a fellow brother or sister who has been baptised in the holy spirit, knows about deliverance and breaking curses and guiding repentance prayer and can take some time to pray with you.
I also need a miraculous healing. I have been suffering for many years and need a healing miracle. Can you please tell me who to contact for that. Thanks so much.

I believe God is performances ng miracles all of the time. Unfortunately, many people are not aware of this. God is moving. He is working in our lives even if we don’t seem to be getting anywhere. There are so many times where God haves kept that car from hitting us, provides for our needs when it seems impossible to make ends meet, to be able to talk, walk, and etc. There are many wat God shows his miracles which is derived from his live and mercy. God is good and he is willing and ready to forgive, though we don’t deserve it. Praise God, THe Son, and The Holy Spirit, amen.
I have wanted to help people heal since I was about 10. I watched shows on TV where people were healed and knew it’s something I have to do. But my parents and others I told said it’s fake. I was pretty much discouraged. However I still sought answers and tried some energy type healer’s like reiki. Never got really good or lasting results though I could feel the energy. I like what I see here and would love to get involved.

I need heeeelllpppp!!! I have a three year old son who has been diagnosed with hearing loss, the audiologists are still not sure if it’s moderate, severe or profound. I can say without any doubt that healings are real. I had the Holy Spirit come upon me after I had rid myself of all pride, ego, and repented of sin. You see, He hides himself from the proud…even a little pride, and he will hide from you. Come to him with godly sorrow for sins, and he will appear, giving the power of the Holy Spirit all over your body. I ran around for 2 months with the annointing, not knowing what to do with it. Laid hands on 2 people and they received a healing…got scared and quit for a bit. When one recieves the HS, their confidence and FAITH shoots too the moon…thereby letting them to command any healing or whatever is needed, and it will be done..instantly.
I say, seek out the Truth,..knock and it will be opened, seek and you shall find. For when the truth is revealed…one will marvel, one will also be terrified at the same time, and then ultimate peace. For there are other things that happen when the HS first comes, and I will not share those things..you have to experience them first hand.
I’m a believer! You prayed for my nephew in Providence R I on yesterday as he waited at the bus stop for his hip pain. He suffers really bad from hip pain! He hasn’t had any pain in that hip since you and the others all prayed for him. He has shared what he believes to be a miracle with my family as well as friends and coworkers. Miracles do and continue to Happen. I wore glasses with a -3 prescription for almost 20 years. I received the gift of the holy spirit in April and have been glasses free ever since. Everything is so much brighter, crisper, clearer. Even with glasses it wasn’t this clear. I have got to share the event with everybody I know as well. When they ask what happened to your glasses? I get so excited.
I have had -11.5 diopter since years. You are the first person I read/heard about who has been healed of refractive error, so far as i recall. Maybe one day i too can get rid of prescription glasses in Jesus’ name!
when I first received Christ it was by means of listening to a message on a cassette tape. The minister quoted Proverbs 17:22 stating a merry heart doeth good like medicine. He added, even sinners have a merry heart and it doeth them good, how much more the joy of the Lord. Not knowing anything about doctrines and hardly anything I threw these strong medications I was on for over 15 years away and every one wondered what happened. I don’t recommend anyone to do what I did only if definitely having a clear witness by the Spirit. knowing also the devil may attempt to give you a false leading. The seizures came back upon me after 2 years. Maybe cause I didn’t have a prayer life, but still witnessed to others. Acts is my favorite book as I believe healing should be the norm, not the exception. I feel my callings in life is 2 fold. Winning the Lost and edifying the body. We’re one big family but so detached. Reading Psalm 19:1-3 I looked up into the sky at and beheld 1 small star and realized all the darkness in the world can’t put that light out and we have it in us. That treasure in these earthen vessels. Romans state men suppress it, I simply encourage the body to soak it up like a sponge.

My wife, 70 years old, has been totally blind in her left eye since the age of 17. Now the sight in her right eye is failing due to a cataract and severe myopia. It breaks my heart. I, myself, fully rely on the healing power of God through the Holy Spirit. Some of my afflictions have been fully healed (one of which was a cancer causing virus), some have been stayed and managed through prayer and self-deliverance. My wife, the apple of my eye, does not seem to be able to heal or get better without a doctor’s intervention. Over the past year and a half she was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. After Jesus, she is the greatest gift God has given me in this world — but I am not able to heal her. I would take her anywhere in the world to receive healing but, as the centurion said to Jesus, just say the word and my servant will be healed. I humbly ask in Jesus’ name for my wife’s sight to be restored in both eyes, and to be healed from her rheumatoid arthritis. If anyone feels led to do so, please pray for her healing, in Jesus’ name.

“The healings present a monstrous obstacle to scientific historiography. If events transpired as newspapers, letters, and testimonials say they did, then Aimée Semple McPherson’s healing ministry was miraculous…The documentation is overwhelming: very sick people came to Sister Aimee by the tens of thousands, blind, deaf, paralyzed. Many were healed some temporarily, some forever. She would point to heaven, to Christ the Great Healer and take no credit for the results.”
Limb regeneration was said to have occurred in a McPherson meeting as attested to by a long-term Foursquare Church member in the mid 1920’s. As a girl of 11, Lora Barrett (1916-2005) stated, during a service; a man with an arm missing just above the elbow, gave McPherson a prayer request for some other unspecified illness. While she prayed, Barrett said the man’s missing arm started to grow back all the way to the fingernails. At this, she stated people closest to him who could see what was happening, began praising the Lord; spreading joy to others in congregation.

Dear believer in Christ, i believe in salvation and healing through the Cross . His word says so..at this moment I really long for healing for a persistent sore in my mouth. I have heard of a few healings happen like this, where the doctor sees something and then all of a sudden the cancer is gone, or the tumor is gone. There is no explanation other than Jesus himself! Praise God
We have prayed and seen the Power of God heal many people. If we as His people will only believe and step out to lay hands and pray for others, I know the number of people healed will dramatically increase all over the earth. We were created for such a time as this!!

Hi Marsha, we are happy to pray for you. One thing as a believer that has not been well taught in traditional church, is that we already have the same spirit that raised Jesus from death, and we have been given authority over sickness and the powers of darkness. So we “speak to the mountain” (the problem) and tell it to go. This is what Jesus taught – he never taught us to ask God, because God already gave us authority to heal the sick. Then Jesus said, if we believe as though we already have it (because He already defeated sickness) then our faith will appropriate His Grace, for our healing. So with that said, I say to the MS in your body and all it’s damage to the nerves to be gone, and I say to your nerves be made new and be perfect and body function perfectly with no more pain or weakness, in Jesus name, amen.

Crystal, I don’t think that is possible but I do know you can pray that they would come to know Jesus so well, and love Him so deeply, that he himself would renounce anything that is not healthy for his relationship with the Lord, and with other loved ones. I think when we pray for another persons heart, without any selfish motives, God responds to such unselfish love and moves on such prayers quickly. I’ve seen it happen in my own life many times.

Mark, join with our faith and begin walking and command the nerves to be restored, until you see improvement. We prayed for one gentleman and it took about 15 minutes but he was healed and restored by the finished work of Jesus, the power of the Holy Spirit and the love of our Father.
I wasn’t a practicing Christian and grew up seeing miracles from my dad who would evangelize at churches. I usually didn’t want to go to church but couldn’t deny seeing people get healed of broken bones, diseases, and seeing demons getting cast out of people. I went off in the world and it had nothing for me. Now that I am back in god as of a year ago and saved god has totally transformed my life.
