Demon Possessed Man Healed: Testimony from Smith Wigglesworth
I was one time asked to go to Weston-super-mare, a seaside resort in the West of England. I learned from a telegram that a man had lost his reason and had become a raving maniac, and they wanted me to go to pray for him. I arrived at the place, and the wife said to me, “Will you sleep with my husband?” I agreed, and in the middle of the night an evil power laid hold of him. It was awful. I put my hand on his head and his hair was like a lot of sticks. God gave deliverance-a temporary deliverance. At 6 o’clock the next morning, I felt that it was necessary that I should get out of the house for a short time.
The man saw me going and cried out, “If you leave me, there is no hope.” But I felt that I had to go. As I went out I saw a woman with a Salvation Army bonnet on and I knew that she was going to their 7 o’clock prayer meeting. I said to the Captain who was in charge of the meeting, when I saw he was about to give out a hymn, “Captain, don’t sing. Let’s get to prayer.” He agreed, and I prayed my heart out, and then I grabbed my hat and rushed out of the hall. They all thought they had a madman in their prayer meeting that morning.
I saw the man I had spent the night with, rushing down toward the sea, without a particle of clothing on, about to drown himself. I cried, “In the name of Jesus, come out of him!” The man fell full length on the ground and that evil power went out of him never to return. His wife came rushing after him, and the husband was restored to her in a perfect mental condition.
There are evil powers, but Jesus is greater than all evil powers. There are tremendous diseases, but Jesus is healer. There is no case too hard for Him. The Lion of Judah shall break every chain. He came to relieve the oppressed and to set the captive free. He came to bring redemption, to make us as perfect as man was before the fall.
People want to know how to be kept by the power of God. Every position of grace into which you are led-forgiveness, healing, deliverance of any kind, will be contested by Satan. He will contend for your body. When you are saved, Satan will come round and say, “See, you are not saved.” The devil is a liar. If he says you are not saved, it is a sure sign that you are.
Down syndrome pregnancy completely healed!
This testimony touched me personally because it’s so similar to the testimony regarding one of my own daughters. In the 1980’s at an early pregnancy check up, late on a Friday afternoon, we were told there were strong indications/results that our daughter would be born with down syndrome.
If that news wasn’t shocking enough, it was also strongly recommended by the nurses that we terminate the pregnancy.
Wow, what started as an exciting afternoon, came to a screeching halt. I think I literally had difficulty exhaling hoping what I heard wasn’t real.
The overwhelming news shocked our world and having drifted from God at the time, this still caused us terrible distress to consider such a harsh recommendation.
Even though someone we trusted and respected was strongly recommending termination, and even though such a horrible option seemed somewhat socially acceptable to consider in that decade, I believe the spirit of God deep inside us told us that an abortion was wrong.
After four days of what I believe was a “spiritual battle” for our daughters very life, we decided to trust in God and had great peace about the decision to keep the baby. Although I had peace (no doubt from God not my own means), if I’m honest, I can admit it didn’t seem like my faith was very strong back then and I was actually prepared for the worst. I’m so grateful that we had friends who prayed, and stood in the gap with their own prayers and strong faith….so grateful.
Today, I’m happy to say my daughter is now a healthy, beautiful, brilliant grown up woman who graduated from Grad School with honors, and currently embarking on her own faith building journey called life…..God is so good!!

As time progressed and their three beautiful children, Joshua, Luke and Chloe grew, Holly chose to capture the joy of motherhood by having a professional portrait taken of the children. She had the portrait framed and with deep satisfaction hung it on the wall in their family room. The Trover family was content.
2 years later, in 2008, Steve like many business owners began to see the economy slow. As a result he turned to the Lord and began to seek His wisdom for their business. As he prayed for God’s direction, the Lord began to impress on Steve’s heart that they were to have another child. This was not quite the guidance Steve was seeking. Steve resisted sharing the news with his wife for a couple of months until finally, one night while working at his computer, God said it was time to tell her.
Although Holly was completely surprised by Steve’s news, the two conceived their fourth child almost immediately.
Several months into the pregnancy, when the time came for Holly to have her second ultrasound, the doctor delivered some devastating news. After careful measurement and calculation the doctor said that there were several factors that clearly indicated that the baby would be born with Down syndrome. The doctor went on to show the Trover’s in detail what led her to the diagnosis. Before leaving the room, the doctor went as far as to talk about possible termination of the pregnancy through abortion.
Termination of the pregnancy was not an option for Scott and Holly.
The enemy had come to steal from Steve and Holly, but they stood their ground. Drawing on the revelation they had received from Andrew’s teaching in their church small group, and knowing that it was God who spoke to them about having another child, they refused to believe that this was God’s plan for their baby. In the face of this negative report of a medical reality in the natural, Steve, standing on faith in God’s word, took his authority and rejected the diagnosis. “I cancel this diagnosis in the name of Jesus. We don’t believe these things that were spoken over our child and we don’t accept it…” Steve rebuked.
Several months later the Trover’s returned to the doctor’s office for another ultrasound. The couple entered the examining room determined to see different results. After a long time passed, the doctor finally spoke and said that if this had been the first time that she had seen this baby, she would have told the Trover’s that their baby was perfect in every way. However, in disbelief, the doctor continued to take measurements. Finally, exasperated, the doctor threw up her hands; she couldn’t offer any explanation for the transformation she saw in the Trover’s baby.

How do we win the battle against sickness today?
When Jesus began his ministry, He was revealing and doing the will of God for all people… He was fulfilling prophesy and fulfilling the scriptures through His healing miracles.
(When the evening came, they brought to him many that were possessed with Devils: and He cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses. Matthew 8:16-17).
And if it was God’s will to heal ALL when Jesus came into His ministry; “low, I come, to do your will, oh God” Hebrews 10:7, and if it is true that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8) then it must also be true that it is still God’s will for Jesus to heal All who come to Him today. In fact as followers, Jesus Himself commanded us in both Matthew and Luke to go out, share the love of God, and heal the sick (Matt 10:7-9 and Luke 10:8-9). Yet, so many Christians no longer see healing in their lives, no longer believe in the power of healing, and most no longer believe healing is real or available to us today as followers of Jesus.
F.F. Bosworth writes in his book Christ the Healer
“Perhaps no one could be more conservative than the scholars of the Episcopalian church. Yet, the commission appointed to study the subject of spiritual healing for the body, after three years of study and research in both the Bible and in history, reported back to the church; the healing of Jesus was done as a revelation of God’s will for humanity. Because they discovered that his will is fully revealed they reported further, no longer can the church pray for the sick with that faith-destroying phrase, “if it be your will“.”
In other words, nothing could destroy the power of healing in the name of Jesus faster than a faith that is uncertain of God’s will to heal us. When we say “Oh Lord, heal my friend if it be your will”, we have basically shown the enemy that we have little or no faith that it is God’s will to heal us.
When we believe sickness is from God, or when we believe that it’s God’s will for us to be sick, or that it is He who selectively chooses who will and who will not be healed based on favor, then we have been terribly deceived by the enemy and we are left with a weak foundation for our faith to stand up against sickness from the enemy.
Brothers and sisters Satan is a liar: This is true….the Bible says so and Jesus said so. He has been deceiving the world since Adam and Eve and causing us to doubt Gods word, since that very day mankind fell when He asked Eve “Did God actually say?…surely you will not die!”
I believe today, many of us are equally deceived when Satan says things to us like ”Did God surely mean His forgiveness, grace, healing, and mercy are for All of us?…. surely God’s healing power was for generations past and not today’s church?…. Surely God meant healing was for the past or for our future in heaven and not literally now, when Isaiah said “By his stripes you ARE healed and when Peter said by His stripes we WERE healed”. Can you hear those words in the whisper of that same serpent that was in the Garden with Adam and Eve? “Ha Ha, Surely you don’t think you deserve healing, you are just another sinner!”
Well, “surely I say, Satan was a liar then and is still the same liar today trying to deceive the world. Remember Satan is the one, who destroys and who does everything he can to deny us of God’s goodness and to weaken God’s truths found in His holy word.”
Satan has never delivered a single promise within his lies, yet God has never broken a promise within His word….so who should we believe? Where do we place our faith? In God and His Word, or in the doubts born of a liar who accuses the brethren day and night?
When God said to the Israelites in the desert “I am the Lord who heals you” they all believed him and 3 million were healed! (He brought them forth…there was not one feeble person among their tribes Ps 105:37)
Today thousands are still being healed by God through the power of Jesus. Just do a search on Google and you will see some amazing stories of how the power of God is healing day in and day out. I was so excited with some of the stories I found in my searches, that I created a site to get the word out and post some at; www.documentedhealings.com
So doesn’t it make sense that if “God shows no partiality and is no respecter of persons,” as the Bible says in Acts 10:34 then doesn’t it make sense that maybe it’s our own doubts that stand in the way between us and greater healing from God? I say this as a challenge for each of us, with great compassion and not to condemn/blame anyone left unhealed. The last thing I want, is to further beat down those seeking healing who’s prayers are not answered saying “your faith is weak”. What I’m suggesting is for most of us if not all, our faith has plenty of room to grow.
I like what FF Bosworth said;
“Don’t doubt God. If you must doubt something, doubt your doubts, because they are unreliable; but never doubt God, nor his word.” I say Amen to that!!!!
I have experienced some amazing healing in my own life, and I’ve witnessed several substantial, verifiable healing miracles in others over the past couple years, but oh how my spirit cries out for more! …..my heart so desires that greater faith to overcome ALL doubts and rings loud every day in my prayers.
I don’t think I’m alone, I see more and more followers with growing desires for a greater faith awakening within them, which I believe even this desire moving in the body of Christ, was planted by the grace of God through the Holy Spirit for our generation.
I truly believe we are entering a new time for the church where prayer will usher in a greater faith in His people and this greater faith will become the light of the world as we see greater fear, uncertainty, lawlessness and darkness spread across the globe. He is calling us to be His light in a dark world until every tribe, tongue and nation is reached with the good news of His Son ushering His return. I believe at the current speed of life and technology, that could happen soon, maybe within our generation making us the most blessed generation in over 2000 years.
Well, that is my prayer each day for all of us …. for “more God “and “more faith”…. Holy Spirit, crucify all our doubts that they may die, be buried, and resurrected with the full revelation of the Glory of Jesus! Let us believe every word from the mouth of God that it may not return to Him empty and void….. And Jesus answered them……. whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” (Matt21:21-22)
Oh Lord I plead, crush our doubts, place them under our feet with the head of the great liar, and let your word reign true through each of us as we serve you, now and forever, AMEN!

Sharing God’s love in the workplace!

What an amazing day I had this past week sharing the love of Jesus!
10:00AM, I had a car inspection with my mechanic- I needed tires so he sends me down the street to a used tire place run by some nice Brazilian gentlemen.
We get to talking and one guy (Ramondo) asks what I do and then asks if I could troubleshoot their network and laptop so I say sure, and noticed the guy going for his laptop is limping pretty bad up the stairs….Compassion and the love of Jesus hits me and God prompts my heart telling me I need to pray for his knee! I ask the guy what happened, and he describes a forklift accident that crushed his knee a year ago.
So after they finished changing my tires, I finally see a good moment and asked if I could pray for his knee and Ramondo asks me if I’m serious with this weird look on his face. The office manager and two other guys are standing there also wondering and asking if I’m serious, and I said “yes I lay hands and pray often for others, especially when visiting mom in the nursing home”. The office manage (Clifford) looking at me with a bit of disbelief, asks me if I’m a Christian and I tell him yes, so I also ask if he is a believer in Jesus and he nods yes along with Ramondo. Once we establish we’re all Christians apparently it’s OK for me to pray now so Ramondo gladly says “yes please pray for me” and the guy immediately sits down and pulls up his pant leg!
I wasn’t expecting quite that much enthusiasm where I needed to see the scars on his knee, but hey he wanted to show me the seriousness of the injury so I ran with it!
So we pray once and I ask him to test it out and I asked how much better his knee felt – says it’s about 10% better, so I said OK let’s pray again for more healing!
As I pray more and more for the sick, one thing God seems to be showing me is that He will often use small increments of healing, to help us build our faith if we will step out to “trust Him“, He’ll keep moving that “line of faith” forward into new territory for us, if we are willing to continuing praying until we see greater/full healing. I used to get pretty discouraged when I didn’t see immediate results from prayer, but now I see how God has been showing that by testing results, and then in seeing even the littlest increments of healing He is actually saying, “If you are willing step out and pray, and test what I’ve done, then I will bless you with small steps of healing when you lack greater faith to believe in the full healing.” How cool is God??
When He showed me this, I was so moved I couldn’t hold back the tears. In this revelation, I actually see a caring Father’s love, showing us as His children, how to take small steps to take us to where He wants us to be/become with our faith. Honestly, I almost felt like God was helping me/us with training wheels until our faith is stronger! Oh such love He has for us!! If we will only step out, He will help us move that “line of faith forward” for each of us growing in our own faith!! God is such an amazing Abba!
Anyway, after praying a second time for Ramondo he says it feels about 20% better so we pray one more time and he says it now feels a whole lot better as he tests it one more time and moves the knee all around in a way he couldn’t do before! Praise Jesus the great healer!!
Then the office manager Clifford says he also has a bad knee and asks if I can pray for him. He takes me aside into the side room, we pray he receives healing and he gets up and says it feels completely better and then after walking into the office, he said he felt a lot of heat in his knee when Jesus healed it. Two for two….Amen!!
So there I am, the guy who is supposed to be full of faith stepping out asking Jesus to heal someone and what do I say to his comment? I respond like I’m surprised and I say “Really?” Duh! Thank God He is patient with me and patient building up my faith! Lol!
But of course now I quickly recover from my momentary lack of faith (double duh!), and I think “OK Lord, now we’re cooking with gas now!”
Continuing, a well dressed third man who can’t speak English is standing in the office signaling his lower back hurts, and he asks Clifford if I will pray for his back. I prayed three times in the name of Jesus and each time he said it felt better and better! Amen, Then he asks if I will pray for his heart condition, and then for his diabetes. We were all praying and giving thanks to Jesus right in the office….so cool!! When we finished praying, the peace of God visibly fills him and he has a big smile and gives me a “thumbs up”. Does it get any better than seeing God show up? … Yay God!
I’m so revved up now at this point, that I decide further share other some things God is doing through prayer in my life, to yet a fifth man who was helping me translate while praying for the last man. So I share some successful miracles of Jesus healing with him that I’ve seen at the nursing home in the past months, and he then translates the story for the man I just prayed for….there we were, all three of us smiling, nodding our heads to the goodness of God, and giving all the glory to Jesus, standing in the middle of the most unlikely place, a used tire business!
I think it’s just so cool that God can show up anywhere, anytime, if we just dare to step out in faith! How many opportunities do we miss with our brothers and sisters to praise God outside of church because we are so often too busy to step out? The lesson for me today is that He is ALWAYS faithful and shows up when invited!! Amen
My morning isn’t over yet! Sure, I’m running late now for my noontime web support session with a client, but somehow sharing the love of God seemed so much more important! Lol! It turned out my client wasn’t upset at all, and we just rescheduled for later in the afternoon. It’s all good with God I think:)
So then, filled with the joy of the Lord, I head back to my mechanics place and I can’t help but share with him all that happened at the other tire place. I’ve only been to see him once before so I don’t know him very well. He says he too is a believer and he starts telling me how he is always defending the faith to a part time worker who is a Jehovah’s Witness, and we go on to share some deeper revelations about scripture together. It was awesome!
Here is the greater truth, I never would have known my Brazilian mechanic was a Christian if I hadn’t shared what had happened at the tire place, yet because I did, we now share an unshakeable bond as brothers in Christ!
Actually, I never would have known the other four men were also believers if I hadn’t asked if I could pray for the first man when I was prompted by the Holy Spirit. Because I took a small step of faith in offering prayer, 6 of us were able to share our Christian faith yesterday, and build up the body by praising Jesus in the workplace, and maybe most important, we all we got to see God’s love through healing in the name of Jesus!! Amen! How cool is that? I have to say, it was very a good day for rejoicing in the Lord!
I have to wonder, how many opportunities we miss each day, when we hold back from reaching out to pray in Godly love?? To be honest, for the dozens of times I’ve stepped out in faith to pray for someone over the past 9 months, I have not had one single negative or discouraging experience. Maybe having all positive encounters isn’t the norm for some, but even if I had a few “bad responses”, I think all the good ones would far outweigh the bad ones.
You would think the fact they have all been so good, would automatically cause me to pray publicly for more people each day!! I may not be there yet, but I will get to that place where I’m ministering the love of Jesus EVERY day and EVERYWHERE I go, as part of my lifestyle!! I’ve seen so many people blessed over these past months; simply by praying, caring, and by loving them the way Jesus loved others, and I have to admit, the more I see the hungrier I become to see more and more of Jesus in my entire life, everyday, every minute!
My mechanic did end up asking me to pray for him as well and he was very eager to receive the blessings of God. We talked about his family and it turns out his wife is struggling with Lyme Disease so I’ll be returning next week to complete my car repairs and when I do, we plan to make a special trip to his home to pray for his wife in the name of Jesus!
I’ve had a lot of single positive encounters praying for others, but this is the second time in nine months where I spent the better part of 4 hours seeing the love of Jesus pour from my heart in such love and compassion, and God showed up big-time! None of it is me, the Holy Spirit is leading and teaching me about God’s real love for all of us, and all glory goes to Jesus not me!!
I’ve heard others who flow in this way all the time mention , “Love always wins” and if we approach with the right heart, God’s love never fails. Even when it may look bad outwardly, or we don;t see immediate healing, I believe people are still touched by the love of Jesus and it’s almost impossible to fail when we reach out with the power of Godly love!
God is so good and His love never fails!!!

Some people profess to believe in God, but they don’t know Him, His nature, His love or 
His power. This was true of Connie Weiskopf for a long time. Connie grew up in a large family with whom she attended a denominational church. It was through her church experience that the blindness of religion covered her eyes. It was there that God, the Father, was misrepresented as a wrathful, angry God, ready to strike her with sickness or to punish her because of her sin.
One particular event during Connie’s formative adolescent years caused her to look at life through a filter; at the age of sixteen she was raped. Because of her religious foundation, and misconception of who God is, Connie was unable to turn to Him for comfort. Rather she hid from God; struggling with the shame and guilt she carried by herself. Connie came to blame God for the bad things that happened in her life.
After college Connie established herself as a graphic designer and renowned watercolor artist. As life progressed, she became involved in an abusive relationship, one in which she was raped again. This time, Connie found herself with an unwanted pregnancy. Connie had her first abortion, and her shame and guilt deepened.
Still unable to turn to God, Connie looked to the world for love, and in her wounded state she became involved with David—another unhealthy relationship. Connie had a second abortion. “David and I aborted our first child together and my heart truly died. I no longer felt. I only existed. No one ever told me I had choices, only that abortion would solve my ‘problem’,” said Connie.
Sometime later, a friend invited Connie to church, and for the first time she felt the love of God. At last, Connie had found a comfortable place in God’s presence. She was also pregnant again. Worried that if anyone knew she was pregnant she wouldn’t be welcome to continue to meet with the God she had just met, she terminated her third child.
Continuing to attend her new church, Connie gave her life to Christ and fell passionately in love with Him. “He became everything I had been searching for. He became my best friend and my husband,” Connie said.
As Connie’s passions and focus shifted to Jesus, she and David separated. She attended a local Bible college hosted at her church, and as she sought to know Him, Connie learned to recognize His voice. Two years after their separation, the Lord led her back to David and the two were married.
A friend had given her one of Andrew’s tapes several years earlier and she knew that when Andrew prayed, people received healing. Connie contacted AWM and asked if Andrew would come pray for her. The ministry replied that he was unable to accommodate her request, but instead invited her to where Andrew would be ministering at a local church in Colorado Springs.
Connie went to the meeting and was able to meet with Andrew before the service. After asking if she was ready to receive her healing, Andrew prayed a simple prayer. She remembers Andrew’s message about the balance of grace and faith being exactly what she needed to hear to receive her healing.
Although she had been prayed for, Connie underwent surgery a short time later. Following the procedure, during which a surgeon removed a portion of her left breast, the doctor called and said, “We don’t know what happened, there was no cancer left.” Connie said, “I know what happened. God healed me!” David and Connie praised God and rejoiced in Him!
After several relocations, including one back to her home State of Colorado, and a career change in which the Lord led her away from the arts to a position with Life Choices Pregnancy Center, Connie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Prior to her diagnosis, the Lord had been teaching Connie about His healing power, so she sought healing through His Word and prayer from like-minded people in her church.
Now, Connie continues her work as a Center Director with Life Choices Pregnancy Center. Through her position she is able to share the truth with the women who visit the facility. “I get to share the truth so that women know they can make a choice for life. I share that there is a loving, gracious God, who took care of all of our sins at the cross. I also get to share about the power of Jesus Christ that is available to those who believe,” said Connie. While Connie has seen many healed, she said she receives her greatest joy when salvations occur and she can see others getting it; getting to know about this incredible love of a good God.
